Weddings, Catching Up and Plenty of New Arrivals
First things first, a huge congratulations to my friends James and Nadine who tied the knot on Monday. It was a brilliant day and a lovely break from the workshop, but of course that meant the rest of the week has been all about catching up.
Quite a few locos were held back while customers were away on holiday, so it’s been good to get those serviced and repaired engines returned home and running again. Nothing better than handing them back in top condition.
On top of that, plenty of fresh arrivals have come through the door, with Dapol and Graham Farish models keeping the bench busy. A mix of straightforward services and more involved repairs kept things ticking along, and it’s always interesting to see the different quirks each manufacturer brings.
For the more complex cases, I’ve even sent parts off to Ultrascale to hopefully have some bespoke gears made. This should help bring a few of the older locos back to life — always satisfying when we can keep them running for years to come.
All in all, a full week both in and out of the workshop. Here’s to keeping everything rolling smoothly as summer carries on.
