Union Mills, DCC Conversions and a Graham Farish Fleet in the Works

It’s been another steady week at Platform Collectables and the bench has definitely been kept busy. We’ve completed two DCC conversions, both of which went smoothly and have already been tested and returned to their owners. It’s always nice when everything goes to plan without needing to hunt down extra parts.

We also had a rather charming little fleet of Union Mills locos in for servicing. These are always great fun to work on and really solid machines when given a bit of attention. They respond well to a clean and oil and often need very little beyond that to keep them running sweetly. Alongside those, we had some Dapol locos through the workshop which also just needed the usual servicing to bring them back to life.

What’s really taken over the bench though is a whole fleet of Graham Farish locos that arrived in need of repair. Some are straightforward, just needing a tidy up and a few adjustments, while others have a bit more going on under the bonnet. It’s one of those satisfying tasks where progress builds as each loco is ticked off and tested.

We’re always happy to see so many locos still running after all these years and especially pleased when servicing alone is enough to get things going again. If you’ve got something tucked away that’s due a bit of care, we’re here and happy to help.

The workshop is ticking along nicely and the kettle has barely had time to cool. Just how we like it.
