This Week at Platform Collectables – Servicing Saves the Day

It’s been a busy one in the workshop this week with plenty of locos in and out, and it’s been great to see just how many “repair jobs” actually just needed a proper service.

I know customers often fear the worst when something stops running – assuming it’s going to mean a full rebuild or a pricey repair. But more often than not, it turns out to be something simple like dried-up oil, dirty pickups, or loose wires – all of which we sort as part of our standard service. So it’s always reassuring when we can get something running again without needing to dive into major repairs or expensive parts.

That said, it’s worth knowing that even when parts are needed, the majority are still very affordable. It's only really replacement motors that push the cost up, and even then we’ll always speak to you first and explain your options.
