Small Wins: Servicing, Photography & 3D Printing Fun

Not every week is non-stop action, but even a quieter one comes with some exciting progress!

Servicing & Photography Upgrades

Only two trains in for servicing this week, giving us some time to focus on other areas. We’ve now got our hands on a lightbox, which means we can finally start taking proper photos of our second-hand stock. Clear, high-quality images make all the difference when listing items, so this will help us get more pre-owned models up for sale soon!

3D Printing for… Coffee?

We also had a bit of fun testing out our 3D printer, though not for trains this time! Instead, we printed a cup riser for a coffee machine—a small but useful upgrade. It’s always good to experiment with different prints, and we’re looking forward to using the printer for more railway-related projects soon.

Big Progress on the Layout

Great news—both loops are now working on my grandad’s layout! It’s been a long time coming, but getting both tracks fully operational feels like a real step forward. There’s still some fine-tuning to do, but seeing trains running smoothly around the layout is a great sight.

Charity Steps Update – Catching Up!

We’ve been getting more steps in for March the Month, though I fell a bit behind after a football injury. That said, we’re not giving up—time to catch up and keep pushing towards the goal!

That’s all for this week, but as always, we’re here for train servicing, repairs, and DCC conversions if you need them. Keep an eye on our website as more second-hand stock starts going up for sale!
