More Locos in the Workshop – Repairs, Servicing and Getting Things Moving Again
It’s been another solid week in the workshop, with more locos coming in for both repair work and general servicing. What’s been interesting is how many of them have turned out to only need a good, proper service to get running again.
Sometimes, what seems like a dead or faulty loco is really just suffering from a buildup of old grease, dirty pickups, or slightly worn connections—and once it’s stripped down, cleaned, and re-oiled, it springs back to life. It just goes to show how far regular servicing can go to keep things running smoothly.
Of course, we’ve had a few more complex jobs too—faults that needed parts or more in-depth repairs—but overall it’s been a productive week. It’s always rewarding getting these models back up and running for their owners, especially when they’ve been gathering dust or frustrating someone for ages.
I’ll be sharing a few more of these repairs soon, and hopefully I’ll get some filming done while I’m at it. As always, thank you to everyone who’s sent in a loco—it’s great to work on such a variety and keep them running.
